Nurse Brennan’s Tips For Applying To Become A Medliant USRN

As a fellow international Registered Nurse and permanent resident immigrant to the USA, I am dedicated to helping each of you succeed in achieving your dream of becoming a Medliant USRN and living out your American Dream. Here you will find my tips and advice to help you successfully apply to become a Medliant USRN!

1. Requirements To Apply:

To apply to become a Medliant USRN, you should 1) hold a degree in nursing, and 2) have recent or current experience in either a bedside hospital or dialysis role as a Registered Nurse. The most employable experience that you can get as a Registered Nurse will be in an adult ICU setting (e.g. CVICU, Neuro ICU, MICU, etc.), as well as in a medical-surgical, telemetry, high-dependency, PCU, step-down, critical care unit, or dialysis unit. Medliant is also hiring Registered Nurses with experience in obstetrics or in an emergency department. You should also have the intention to take the NCLEX-RN exam, an approved English Assessment (if applicable), and acquire a CGFNS VisaScreen Certificate in a timely manner.

2. What Your Resume/CV Should Include:

Your resume/CV should be up-to-date and include all of the following:

  • Your full name

  • Contact information (phone number, email, skype number, mailing address)

  • Nationality

  • Education (degree, graduating year, institution, country of education)

  • Experience (hospital name, location, number of beds, specialty, hours worked per week, machines/equipment used)

  • Certifications (if you have or have not yet taken the NCLEX-RN exam, an English Assessment, or completed a CGFNS VisaScreen Certificate; include expiry dates if applicable)

Note: You should submit a PDF or WORD document version of your resume/CV. Submitting pictures of a resume/CV can be difficult to read and may not present as professional. Submitting your resume/CV as links can also be problematic as links may not always open or they may require permission to open, thus delaying your application.

3. Email Medliant To Apply:

Email your resume/CV to nursebrennan@medliant.com and express your intent to apply for Medliant USRN Sponsorship. You should hear back within 5-7 business days of submitting your application to Medliant. If you do not hear back within 7 business days, please ensure that you have submitted your application to the correctly spelled email address and kindly ask for an update of your application.

Important Takeaways To Remember:

  • You can apply, even if you have not yet passed the NCLEX-RN exam, English Assessment, or acquired a CGFNS VisaScreen Certificate.

  • Medliant offers NCLEX Sponsorship to qualified candidates, which includes paying for your self-paced online NCLEX review and exam upfront.

  • Medliant will reimburse the cost(s) associated with your English Assessment when you present proof of passing, as part of our NCLEX Sponsorship Program.

  • If you are not selected for Medliant USRN Sponsorship, do not be discouraged. This does not mean that you will not one day qualify to become a Medliant USRN. Your recruiter will inform you of what requirements you need to meet. You may also ask for recommendations on how to meet Medliant’s requirements so that you can re-apply at a later date.

  • The entire EB3 Green Card Visa process can take as little as 9-18 months for applicants applying from countries with a current priority date, and Medliant will work with you to help you meet the requirements to successfully become a Medliant USRN.

  • The NCLEX-RN can be taken at any Pearson Vue testing center across the world, and you do not have to physically be in the USA to take the exam. The Canadian and Australian NCLEX-RN exams are equivalent, and can be used for your application in the USA. You will only need to pass the NCLEX-RN exam once in your lifetime.

  • You can apply, even if you have an employment gap. Medliant will review your entire Registered Nurse working experience and application on a case-by-case basis.

  • Medliant will automatically sponsor your married spouse and unmarried children under 21 years of age as dependents of your Green Card Visa so that you can immigrate to the USA as a family.

  • Medliant is an employment-based contract-to-hire agency, and not a direct hire agency. As a result, you will begin working as a Medliant USRN immediately when you arrive in the USA, instead of having to wait weeks or even months for a hospital to purchase your I-140 visa sponsorship and employment rights, which can happen with direct hire agencies.
