Becoming a USRN…A Pathway to US Citizenship?

Did you know that becoming a Medliant USRN could be your pathway to one day becoming a US Citizen? It's true! After you become sponsored on a Green Card Visa with Medliant as a US Registered Nurse for five years you will then be eligible to apply for your US Citizenship! If you intend on staying in the USA permanently, applying for US citizenship is the appropriate next step to make this a possibility.

5 benefits to successfully becoming a US citizen include:

1. You cannot be deported back to your birth country or country of origin if you have no criminal history and are truthful during your citizenship interview. Once you are a US Citizen, you will also no longer need to continue to renew your Green Card Visa or any other immigration documents. As a lawful permanent resident, under a Green Card Visa, you could still be deported if you commit a crime while in the USA.

2. You are eligible for the same federal benefits that other US citizens are entitled to. This means that you will be able to apply for the same federal grants and scholarships that other US citizens are able to apply for. It also allows you to travel outside of the US for greater than 180 days at a time without having to worry about not being allowed back into the country upon returning, which can happen if you are a permanent resident and not a US Citizen.

3. You are able to sponsor your family members on Green Card Visas, including your parents, spouse, siblings, and children 21 years of age or older. The ability to sponsor all of these family members on Green Card Visas is only eligible for US Citizens.

4. Your children (under the age of 21 years old) will automatically become US Citizens once you become a US Citizen, regardless if they are born in the USA or not.

5. You are eligible to vote in US elections! Your very first time voting in a US federal election for the President of the United States will be an exciting moment worth celebrating in your journey from an international Registered Nurse to a US Registered Nurse and one day potentially a US Citizen if you choose to pursue this pathway!
