How Much Work Experience Do I Need to Become a US RN?

Did you know that having work experience as a degree educated Registered Nurse is a requirement for US immigration in order to become sponsored on a Green Card visa?

All foreign-educated Registered Nurses must have a minimum of 2 years of experience to meet US immigration requirements. While there are many different specialties that foreign-educated Registered Nurses can work in (hospital, community, teaching, research, etc.), it is important that you get experience specifically an acute care (aka the hospital) to gain the clinical expertise, assessment skills, and knowledge that US hospitals are looking for when hiring international Registered Nurses.

Q. How much clinical experience do I need before I can apply to Medliant International Healthcare Staffing?
A. 12 months of full-time hospital experience (in a hospital with 100+ beds) as a Registered Nurse is needed to apply to Medliant to begin your application for visa sponsorship and employment in the USA!

A. 24 months of full-time hospital experience (in a hospital with 100+ beds) as a Registered Nurse is needed! This means that you will continue to get the remaining 24 months of hospital experience that you need while Medliant begins your application.

Q. I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing Degree and want to work as a Registered Nurse in the USA one day. What specialty of nursing should I work in to have the BEST chance of immigrating to the USA?
