While there are many different specialties that foreign-educated Registered Nurses can work in (hospital, community, teaching, research, etc.), it is important that you get experience specifically an acute care (aka the hospital) to gain the clinical expertise, assessment skills, and knowledge that US hospitals are looking for when hiring international Registered Nurses.

A. 24 months of full-time hospital experience (in a hospital with 100+ beds) as a Registered Nurse is needed! While you need just 12 months of clinical experience to apply with Medliant, the process from application to arriving in the USA will usually take at least 9-18 months (sometimes longer for depending on backlogs with specific countries). This means that you will continue to get the remaining 24 months of hospital experience that you need while Medliant begins your application.
