When you begin working in the USA as a Medliant USRN, you will need to prepare for and plan to file taxes early during the following year. As your employer, Medliant will ensure that you receive the necessary documentation that you need to file your taxes at both the US State and Federal levels with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

What Documents Or Information Do I Need To File My Taxes In The USA?

  • Employment Form (W-2 Wage), which you will receive shortly after the end of the calendar year

  • Your Social Security Number (SSN) or Tax ID Number

  • Your spouse’s full name, SSN or Tax ID Number, and DOB (if applicable)

  • Routing and account numbers of your US bank account to receive your refund by direct deposit (if you choose this option for your return)

  • Charitable donation receipts (if applicable)

  • Medical expense receipts (if applicable)

  • Health insurance coverage document (Form 1095)

  • Childcare expense documents (if applicable)

How Do You File Your Taxes In The USA?

If you choose to mail your taxes, ensure that you use tracking envelopes to ensure that your documents are received by the IRS. The IRS will always sign for tracking envelopes, which then allows you to know if and when those documents were received.

Your taxes need to be filed by April 15th for the previous calendar year. For example, if you are filing for the 2021 tax year (January 01, 2021 to December 31, 2021), you would need to file your taxes no later than April 15, 2022.
